Susan L. Gorman, MBA Executive Director
After serving as interim president since 2011, Susan (Sue) Gorman became the sixth president of the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) on March 6, 2012. Previously, she served as NESA’s Executive Dean and Chief Operating Officer, where she was responsible for the School’s non-academic functions.
Bringing a wealth of academic and business industry experience to her role, Sue is dedicated to fostering innovation and research, building strategic partnerships with the local community and beyond, and creating meaningful relationships with students, faculty, and alumni. Not only is she focused on having NESA become the country’s top acupuncture school; she is committed to achieving ambitious goals through coordinated teamwork.
Before coming to NESA, Sue was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Catherine Hinds Companies. Under her leadership, the school was twice awarded the Schools of Distinction Award during re-accreditation periods with the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Prior to her embarking on a career in academia, Sue managed the internal accounting systems of several small start-up companies and led an initial public offering.
Sue is a member of the Board of Directors for Girls Incorporated of Lynn, the Bentley Executive Club, and an officer with Financial Executives International (FEI) Boston Chapter. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Bentley University and an MBA from Suffolk University.
