Recognizing the complexity of the federal, state and institutional policies, procedures and regulations for the protection of the rights of human subjects in research, the IRB has adopted the mandatory education program for all Principal Investigators, all key project staff (e.g., co-investigators, study coordinators, etc) and IRB members, having any contact with human subjects, human subject data or human biological specimens. It is required that you familiarize yourself with each of the documents below and pass the CITI training. Recertification is required every two (2) years .
The IRB will not process any application until the Investigator and all appropriate staff have completed the education program:
1. Code of Federal Regulations Title 45 - Public Welfare Part 46 - Protection of Human Subjects
2. The Belmont Report
3. Helsinki Declaration
4. Nuremberg Code
5. Human Subject Assurance Training (online)
